Episode 6: 3 Reasons Why Tracking Macros Will Help You Reach Your Health and Fitness Goals

One of my favorite topics to discuss and educate my clients on are macros, and that’s exactly what I’m diving into for this episode! If you’ve ever been curious about what macronutrients are (most commonly referred to as macros), how they work, if this is something you can do long-term, etc., then you won’t want to miss this information.
Macros are amazing because you can actually alter your macros to hit your goals. If your goal is fat loss, you change up your macros to lose fat, and if your goal is to gain muscle, you change up your macros to be able to gain muscle.
To understand a little more about fat storage and why our bodies store fat so easily, you have to first know that our body's fat storage is unlimited. So when you eat too much, your body breaks it down and turns it into fat. When you eat too much protein, too many carbs, etc., it's also broken down and stored as fat. This can cause your weight to go up and up and up endlessly, because it's storing fat for fuel.
If you begin to eat balanced meals during the day and are hitting your macros regularly, your body starts to understand it doesn't need to store as much fat for energy later on, because it's getting what it needs. Your body is trusting you now, and honestly, it's pretty mind-blowing and amazing at the same time!
In today's episode, I'm talking about 3 reasons/benefits to tracking macros, which are:
- Macros are tailored/personalized to you, so this way can work for you forever, because this is the way your body needs to be fueled
- Macros are beneficial for your overall health, because your body is getting what it needs to thrive and function properly
- Macros make you a happier person from the inside out, and you will no longer have to view foods as "good" or "bad"
I want you to understand that tracking macros is not a fad diet-it’s actually not a diet at all. It’s not a one-size-fits-all type of plan either, because it’s actually very unique to each person. YOU are in control of what you’re eating and how you’re fueling your body, and you no longer have to fear food.
